At the age of sixteen Chetan became a member of the senior national table tennis. Chetan stayed for a considerable period of time in Sweden and France. He was employed in the Indian Oil as a mechanical engineer. Being a keen learner, Chetan was known as a person who wages major interest in all the world championships.

Chetan Baboor remained the winner of national title four times. He won two doubles gold in Commonwealth Championship and in 1997 he was revered by the Arjuna Award. Later, Chetan moved to the U.S. to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree in the Thunderbird University, Arizona, in 2001.

He bagged four men`s national singles titles, two Commonwealth gold for doubles and runner up in the Asia Cup and Commonwealth Championships. During his professional life, at the time of his belonging to Kalmar, a top division club, he played at the side of some legendary figures of tennis like Jan Ove Waldner. Being experienced of playing with important tennis advocators as Jan Ove Waldner in the Kalmer Club, Chetan Baboor has honed his skills a lot.
