International Billiards & Snooker Federation got the new board

The Annual General Meeting of International Billiards and Snooker Federation, elected new executive members for the board for next term of two years i.e. 2014-2016 on Wednesday.

The elections were for the posts of President, Vice President and General Secretary. The post for Treasurer was unopposed and Michael Alkhoury of Syria is continuing on the post.

For the post of President, the contest was between Jim Leacy of Ireland (sitting president) and Capt. PVK Mohan of India (sitting Vice President).

Total votes were 50 and AGM elected Capt. Mohan as new President by casting 28 votes against 21 of Jim Leacy. One vote got disqualified.

For the post of Vice President, the contest was between Maxime Cassis of France and Alamgir Sheikh of Pakistan. For this post, AGM elected Maxime Cassis by 27 votes against 23 of Alamgir Sheikh.

The voting was interesting for the post of General Secretary where the contest was between sitting General Secretary, Mohammed El Kammah of Egypt and Dr. Mohammed Leysi of Turkey.

They both got equal number of votes and then the IBSF President, Capt. Mohan, used his casting vote to elect Mohammed El-Kammah as General Secretary.

Now the new board comprises as: Capt. PVK Mohan (President); Maxime Cassis (Vice President); Mohammed El Kammah (General Secretary); Michael Alkhoury (Treasurer); Barrie Jones and Mubarak Al Khayarin as Board Member.
