Gilchrist backs Sachin, says there are going to be tough times in a long career

Legendary wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist came out in support of Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar saying that in a career spanned over 22 years there is got to be some tough times. He said that he is confident that even Sachin will admit that he is not at the peak of his career but it is only Sachin who can decide about his future.

On Sachin being conferred the Membership of the Order of Australia he said that Sachin getting the award shows the respects the player receives in Australia. He said that Sachin has forged 22 years of relation between India and Australia.

On Sachin opting to play for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy, Gilchrist said that it is a testament to his professionalism and commitment to the game.

On the upcoming four match Test series between India and Australia, the hard hitting left-hander said that it should be a close series, he said that both team are very good and are evenly-matched and said that he is looking forward for some exciting cricket.

On playing in home conditions and favorable pitches Gilchrist said that no one should be surprise if they see a turning track in India or a pitch that favors seamers in England and that makes Test cricket so difficult.

Gilchrist believes that series defeat that India suffered against England last year will have any effect on the Indian team.

On Kevin Pietersen’s return to the English side, Gilchrist said that Pietersen is one of the best player in the world and will play a key role in the series.
