Lucknow: Gautam Anand’s winning streak in the men’s singles of the 12th Eldeco Cup RS Sagar Memorial Tennis Championship came to an end today, when he lost to state mate Deepak Vishwakarma in straight sets, at the SDS Tennis Complex at the BBD Badminton Academy here.
 
Wild card entrant Gautam couldn’t tackle a power-packed play by Deepak, who wrapped the semi-final tie by winning it at 6-1, 6-3 quite easily. Now in the final tomorrow, he plays Delhi’s Rubal Shandilya, who defeated B Sai Saran Reddy of Andhra Pradesh 7-5, 6-0 in other semi-final of the day.
 
The women’s singles final will be played Uttar Pradesh’s Damini Sharma and Nupur Kaur of Maharashtra. In the semi-finals today, Damini defeated Samriti Punyani of Delhi 6-3, 6-2, where as Nupar knocked out local challenger Sanya Madan 6-0, 6-1.
