Bidar: Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare lost their respective women’s singles semifinal match in the ongoing ITF Bidar Open Women’s futures tennis championship.
Ankita lost her match against Wing Yau Venise Chan of Hong Kong 3-6, 2-6. The Indian was dominated in both the sets and she never looked like giving a fight back.
Prarthana Thombare went down to Yumi Miyazaki of Japan 4-6, 2-6.
Earlier in the tournament, Ankita taking on Thailand’s Varunya Wongtean Chai won 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) to book a spot in the semifinals. While, Prarthana got the better of Korea’s Ju-eun Kim 6-0, 6-2 in the quarters.
