Polo Cup: Final round flag-off in ChennaiChennai: Polo R Cup 2012 has already proved to be action packed in 4 rounds. With the penultimate round this weekend, the excitement is bound to rise as the season nears its end. Round 4 saw Ameya and Sandeep take the glory in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively, placing them at the top 2 positions on the championship standings.

They are followed by Avdumber, Rahil and Mihir who have showcased some really good racing skills in the season so far. Round 5 will be very crucial as the drivers are looking forward to take advantage of the familiarity with the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) before the championship moves to Buddh International Circuit, Noida for the final round.

Raid De Himalaya: Close shave on Day 3

raid-de-himalaya-14thLahaul and Spiti: Dr Amit Gupta of Rishikesh and his navigator Dr Tarun Sharma had a miraculous escape on Day Three of the 14th Maruti Suzuki Raid De Himalaya, after their SUV almost ran off the edge of a sheer cliff. The incident occurred on the climb-up from Kaza to Komic, in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Padesh.

The close tracking and the alertness of the Marshals of the Maruti Suzuki Raid De Himalayaensured that the rallyists were pulled back from the cliff edge in time.

Santosh takes surprise lead in Raid De Himalaya

raid-de-himalayaShimla: Day two of the 14th Maruti Suzuki Raid De Himalaya saw C Santosh, the mobiker from Bangalore, has overtaken the Raid winner of last year, Dakar champion Helmut Frauwallner, by registering a lead of four minutes in the Motorcylces and Quads category. 

In the Xtreme (Four Wheelers), six-time winner of the Raid Suresh Rana continues to be at the top spot on Day Two, driving a Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Rana, who is driving for Team Maruti, has a lead of almost a minute-and-a-half over his closest rival Aman Ahluwalia, driving a Maruti Gypsy. At the third place is Harpreet Bawa of Chandigarh, a little more than two minutes behind Rana. In Raid Adventure, K Prasad from Mysore, driving a Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, has a marginal lead over Sanjay Takale of Pune.
