Saina to participate in World Series FinalsNew Delhi: London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal conceded that 2012 has been the best year in her badminton career.

"I think this has been my best year so far. I won four tournaments and the Olympic medal in London," Saina told the reporters here during the launch of her autobiography “Playing to Win.”

Saina won the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier, Denmark Open Super Series Premier, Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold, and the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold.

Saina who is yet to recover fully from knee injury expressed her desire to play in the World Super series Finals in China next month.

"The Super Series in China is coming up. The world's top players will be playing in that competition. I lost in the final last year, so, I am looking forward to it," said the ace Indian shuttler.

Saina who was seen in clear discomfort during the Honk Kong Open earlier this month, where she made a second round said, “I did not have much time to recover after Denmark and France.”

Talking about playing in the Indian Open Grand Prix next month, the 22 year old shuttler said, “I am not sure at the moment. It depends whether I am fit or not. My full concentration is on the year ending Super Series Finals to be held in China where I lost the final last year.”

Thanking Yuvraj Singh, who released the autobiography, she said, “I am thankful to Yuvraj for coming here and releasing my book today. This book is about my journey since I was nine, till now. It is about the life of a disciplined sportsperson, about how I got here and what all sacrifices me and my parents had to make, how I practiced eight hours a day to get where I am today," the 22-year-old said.
