Journey over Geeta Phogat, Tintu Luka in London OlympicsLondon: Geeta Phogat lost to Tetyana Lazareva 0-3 of Ukraine in the repechage round and is out of the London Olympics.

Earlier. Geeta lost her opening round match Tonya Lynn Verbeek of Canada and luckily the Indian grappler qualified for the repechage round as Verbeek entered the finals.

Indian athletes struggle continued as India’s middle-distance runner Tintu Luka could not qualify for the final event of 800m. Luka came up with her season best timing of 1:59.69secs but it was not good enough for her to qualify for the finals.

Luka had a good start to the semifinals and at one point was at number four, but she struggled to maintain the pace with other racers and finished on sixth position.
