Ranji Trophy: Harbhajan’s 10-wicket haul helps Punjab decimate TN by 243 runs

harbhajan 20Dindigul: A fantastic spell by Harbhajan Singh (7 for 37) helped Punjab decimate Tamil Nadu by 243 runs in the Ranji Trophy match at Dindigul on Wednesday. With this win, Punjab confirmed their berth in the quarter-finals.

Harbhjana returned with an impressive 10-wicket haul, while Rajinder Singh took six wickets and S Ladda scalped four. Meanwhile, 19 wickets fell on the second dayTamil Nadu were bowled out for 69 in their second innings.

Earlier in the day, starting at 36 for 1, Punjab lost early wickets as TN fought back by reducing the visitors to 76 for 6. However, Punjab's lower order showed some resistance and some valuabe runs to their lead of 138. Wicketkeeper Gitansh Khera scored a 40-ball 43. Punjab were bowled out for 174.

For Tamil Nadu, Malolan Rangarajan and DT Chandrasekar took four wickets each.

Chasing a score of 313, TN succumbed to the guiles of experienced Harbhajan.
