Rampant Leicester City: Players who have made the difference

Until the 5-3 win against Manchester United last season, there weren't many who knew this club. The name is Leicester City. Who could've guessed that this club would be at the top of the English Premier League. This season has been shaping up with a lot of twists. But the only constant is Leicester City FC being at the top. From Ranieri taking over this club to Vardy breaking records for scoring continuously, let us look at the players who have helped this club with their dream run.

Jamie Vardy: The England international has been outstanding with his clinical finishing skills. The 29-year-old had joined the club for 1 million. He has scored in record 11 consecutive Premier League matches, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's record. He is a striker who makes great runs and his secret for scoring is powerful shooting at the goal, leaving the goalkeepers helpless. His performances for the foxes have earned him his international break.

Riyad Mahrez: The 24-year-old Algerian winger has been behind most of the chances created for the club. His insightful passing has come in handy for the goals. The assists he has given has made Vardy's work comparatively easier. This phenomenal winger is now wanted by big clubs. He has played a great role in the foxes' success.

Robert Huth: This 31-year-old has been the backbone of the defence line-up. He hasn't been given much credit though. The German centre back has been rock solid and his tackles are as clean as a whistle. His brilliant display for the club sure helped Leicester City FC reach the top.

Marc Albrighton: Not many would know the impact of this player. He has given the Leicester side an extra option with his pace and trickery on either flank. The 26-year-old winger has played a silent role in creating chances.

Kasper Schmeichel: He is the son of the legendary Peter Schmeichel. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has not achieved to the standards of his father, yet he would be happy with himself at the present. By making 70 saves in 25 appearances in the league, he has conceded very rarely this season. He has a great pair of hands and one can say that Leicester are in the right hands.

Kante and Drinkwater have been controlling the midfield beautifully, while Ritchie De Laet, Wes Morgan and Danny Simpson have held the defence very well. Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki have added firepower to the strike force. Much credit has to be given to manager Claudio Ranieri for his work. Leicester City may well turn out to win this season's title due to the great teamwork. Is this the marking of a new era? Let us wait and watch.
