Saqib leads by nine in Western India junior golf

Mumbai: Saqib Ahmed of Bangalore pulled way ahead of the field with another fine round of even par 70 at the end of the third round of the Toyota IGU Western India Juniors Golf Championship at the BPGC on Thursday. Saqib, who shot 69 on first day and 70 in second is now one-under 209 for three days and nine clear of Aman Raj (75-71-72).

Manu Gandas (73, 75, 72) and Vashistha Pawar (76, 72, 72) are tied third at 220.

Piyush Sangwan joined young Viraj Madappa in Category B lead at 216 while Prabhakar Asawa (68) was third at 219.

Karandeep Kochar (78, 81, 71) was leading in group C, while Jaiveer Singh and Arjun Prasad were tied 237.

Aadil Bedi continued to lead Category D with rounds of 74 and 78 while Harshjeet Sethi (76-82).
