I want to tell people not to be scared of cancer and not live in denial: Yuvraj

Yuvraj Singh successfully fought cancer and is back into the Indian team. Yuvraj Singh’s journey is soon to air on TV as a three-part documentary created using videos shot during his time in the hospital and the film will be called Zindagi Abhi Baaki Hai, says a report in The Hindustan Times.

“The General perception is that if you have cancer, you will die. But the rich don’t talk about it when it happens to them, while the poor don’t even realise when they are ill. I want to tell people not to be scared of cancer. I feel everyone should be aware of what’s happening to them and not be in denial,” said Yuvraj.

Yuvraj also believes that fighting cancer has changed his life, “Eating, breathing and sleeping normally now feels like an achievement. Through my battle with cancer, I have realised that what’s within us matters more than what lies behind and ahead of us.”

“Cancer is a disease that can eat through lives. What kept me going was the thought that I had to fight and save my life. Cricket is my life, so I used to think that once I recover, I would definitely play for India which motivated me”, he added.
