The Rajasthan Royals and the Kings XI Punjab meet up once again on Tuesday but this time at RR’s backyard in Jaipur. Rajasthan would look to win at their home ground against the opponent which defeated them at their home venue in Indore less than 2 days ago. Kings XI now have 12 points on the table and are at the No. 3 place on the points tally. That being said, Punjab would definitely try and improve as a unit and try and win as many games as possible to finalize a spot in the Play offs.
RR though have only 3 wins and it is high time now that they stich a few wins together to have any hope of qualifying for the Play Offs. RR will be feeling the heat at the moment and will be disappointed with the RR batters played on Sunday. Despite Jos Buttler’s half century RR managed a total of 150 odd runs with no significant help from other recognized batsmen. Shreyas Gopal played some good strokes but by that time it was too late for RR.
Kings XI Punjab don’t have too many issues apart from their middle order which has looked brittle in the tournament so far. A few more runs from the middle order and King XI would have ticked more or less all the boxes.
Chris Gayle and KL Rahul, the most successful opening pair has been doing the work for the Punjab XI and the Punjab think tank would hope that they continue their good form with the bat. Jos Buttler with back to back half centuries at the top of the order is likely to open the innings in a lineup with a problem of plenty as far as openers are concerned. Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane would look to bat with more responsibility at this stage of the tournament where they cannot afford any laxity in their approach.
Jofra Archer has been doing pretty well for RR and he was the one who dismissed the dangerous Chris Gayle early on in the chase, that would make for a delightful battle tonight.
KXIP on the other hand will expect healthy contributions from spin duo of Ashwin and Mujeeb and the pacer Andrew Tye.
Another exciting contest from Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Broadcast starts at 20:00 Hours (IST).
