I started playing cricket when I was in class three. But my father discouraged me from playing cricket and always advised me to concrete on my studies. However, my mother always encouraged me for sports a she was herself a basketball player and she had played for Delhi University. She knew the importance and charm of playing sports. It was she who taught me the art of self belief and that confidence has seen me though from many tough situation.

One such instance was during the final of Inter-School 20Twenty World Cup at Mayoor School Cricket Ground in Noida recently. I was the captain of my school team (Ryan International) and I went on to score 90 runs against Modern School, Barakahambha Road. I will remember the knock for long
